These root bowls are carved from a species of fir tree called Shan Mu, which grows abundantly in the mountains of Central China.

The raw materials for these bowls come from stumpage left by logging operations, the removal of which allows for faster Shan Mu reforestation.

A beautiful salad, or food serving bowl, that also makes a lovely decorative piece.

All slightly different.
